RE: Soza Family Reunion will be the most elegant and elaborate reunion possible. The reunion will mark the 215th anniversary of the family's arrival in Tucson.

This occurred in 1775 when Jose Maria Sosa, cavalryman at the Presidio San Ignacio de Tubac was relocated to the newly designated Presidio de San Agustin del Tucson. Alferez Jose Maria Sosa, served nearly thirty years in the Spanish Royal Army and died c. 1811. His widow died Rita Espinosa Sosa died April 16, 1820 at Tumacacori. Recent research revealed that Dona Rita Espinosa de Sosa died April 16th and was buried April 17, 1820 in the Tubac Church, next to the Holy Water Basion. See Newsletters May 1998 and January 1999.

A reunion committee has been established at Tucson, and the many details surrounding an event of this magnitude, are under the able direction of an experienced General Chairman. Everything possible will be done to make this event the most memorable in your life and one you will long cherish. Contact all your family members and tell them about the reunion.

This newsletter is being sent to only two hundred and fifty (250) families, so please help out by spreading the word.

At this reunion we honor the memory of two family members who distinguished themselves and brought honor to the family. More will be said and printed about Zeke and Tony later. For now, come and rejoice in the warmth of their accomplishments.

Our official airline has provided us with a special incentive to fly to the reunion. Please refer to the flyer with all the pertinent information. You must use the special 800 number, identify yourself as a Soza Family Reunion member, and quote the CAMS Code. Happy flying!!!

To help defray reunion expenses, we are offering a coffee mug, porcelain, 9 oz. with the reunion logo, with approximately 80 surnames. We must place an order for a minimum of 500 mugs.
