Student Projects

Old Tucson Studios student project screenshot In 1999, University of Arizona English 102 students conducted original historical and cultural research in Tucson. They utilized the U of A Library’s extensive World Wide Web exhibits of Southwest history, historical photographs, textual material, and cultural artifacts. Online resources accessed via the OldPueblo MOO and the World Wide Web served as their research base. The classes that have participated include: English 306, Spring 2002 English 306 Fall 2001, English 102 Spring 2001, English 306 Fall 2000 English 102, Spring 2000, and English 102, Fall 1999.

Since then, more student histories have been written in English 102 and other courses. Because they make a worthwhile contribution to our understanding of Tucson and the region, we are pleased to include them to the Defining the Southwest Web site.
