Tom Marshall's Photos Thomas Keith Marshall began recording Tucson's history through photography from 1899 until his death in 1931. In May 2007 we unveiled Tom Marshall's Tucson, a website based on Patricia Peters Stephenson's book of the same title. Tom Marshall's Tucson presents a visual record with accompanying history that tells a fascinating story of Tucson in the early decades of the 20th century. Ms. Stephenson owns the glass plate and film negatives of Tom's photos, as well as a number of other important historical artifacts. In June 2007, she shared Tom's 1900 photo album -- including these three images of Fort Lowell and the desert around it. click the image to retrieve a larger version |
