Military Aircraft Nose Art: An American Tradition

About This Website

Much of the content described in this website was researched and written by Leslie Broughton and Jerrilyn Blackman in 1999 for the website's original version.

Ms. Broughton and Ms. Blackman researched the topic at the Pima Air and Space Museum's library and in books provided by Dr. Griffith. See the Sources page for those titles.

Of course, the website would not exist without the interest and contributions of Dr. Griffith. It was through his vision that this uniquely American folk art is made available to an international community.

The current interface was designed in November 2005 by Mike Martelle. Maritza Wright developed the stylesheet that brings Mike's graphics to the Web. Both work in the graphics section of the UA Learning Technologies Center.
