Sculptor Felix Lucero stands proudly behind his creation
Felix Lucero was in the U.S. Army in France during WWI. He made a promise
to the Virgin that if his life was spared, he would devote his remaining
years to religious works. One of these works is a life-size, cement-cast
sculpture of the Last Supper kept in the Garden of Gethsemane at the corner
of Congress and Bonita Streets. Sacred community rituals like quinceañeras
and weddings often begin with a ceremony at the Garden of Gethsemane.
