For this project, I drew pictures about the river. I learned that La Llorona threw her kids in the river, and that animals drank from the water. I liked the snacks, the learning, and the drawing.

In this project I learned that there was an irrigation ditch that I never knew about. What I liked best about was writing "Baby Alfredito's Wild Ride."

Lo que aprendí fue qué tan viejo son el río y el barrio y de como se pueden hacer millones de cuentos sobre el Río Santa Cruz. La acequia corría detrás de la casa donde mi amiga Vivian vive y el tío de la enfermera de mi escuela fue el bebé Alfredo.
What I learned was how old the river and the neighborhood are and how you could make millions of stories about the Santa Cruz River. The irrigation ditch went behind my friend Vivian's house and my school nurse's uncle was Baby Alfredo.

Lo que aprendí de este proyecto es que el agua corría del Río Santa Cruz al Barrio Anita. Lo que me gusto fue escribir y dibujar. También me gusta trabajar con otros niños, con adolescentes y adultos.
What I learned from this project is that water ran from the Santa Cruz River to Barrio Anita. What I liked best from this was writing and drawing. I also like working with other kids, teens, and adults.

I contributed many drawings to this book. I learned about the memories of the river. What I liked best about this project was when we presented our river project at the Tucson Convention Center.
