A Last Look at the Marshall Home, 1957

A last view of 1185. Compare this with the 1902 image of Professor Foucar's newly
completed house. Always thinking of giving service to others, she wrote, "after I am
gone the house would make a good day nursery for working mothers." Unfortunately
it became a parking lot. IP FB

In December 2007, the site of Louise Foucar Marshall's home is a path between
the Harvill Building and Speech and Hearing Sciences. PPS

A view toward Old Main, 2007 Fifty-five years had gone by since my father took a
picture. The trees have changed so that Old Main can be seen, but the back of Yuma Hall
looks the same. PPS

Marshall Terrace Aparatments, 1952. Louise Foucar Marshall's first building project was
her home on Rincon Road, now Second Street. Her last building project, University Terrace,
was located beside her her home. University Terrace was the name Mose Drachman gave
to his subdivision on the 1906 map. IP

A U-shaped building with about a dozen studio units. The University used it
for office space so it is sometimes listed as a University building. IP

Palm Road, 2007, where Marshall Terrace once stood. All that is left now is a short piece of
road that leads to a parking lot. SJG
