Overall, only a few people hope to fail, I don't think you believe this way, Do you?
Most of the people who fail, do not know why it happened. But the few who succeed, they know why. The one who truly succeeds is the one who possess self esteem. Do you consider yourself a successful person?, prosperous and triumphant?, and of course you will be, if you find legitimate and feasible objectives. That is where the secret of success lies. Remember, a golden future exists if you set out practical and feasible goals. There are simple methods that I mention later in this book, and these methods have proven useful in achieving these objectives.
If you allow me, in this book, I will include the readers of this book as part of a large family along with my own children. I will also include my successes and experiences, the life of those who I have known or read about. All these experiences and methods will be exposed in six subheadings in the best possible manner I know how:
PLAN AND PROJECT
The first suggestion that I would offer as a learned lesson would be: caution and prudence in planning ahead.
Each successful person holds a central nerve in each cell always ticking with a purpose. If each atom of your body had a voice, they all would be singing the same tune in unison. Those truly big had taught us this: that whatever they wanted, they obtained it with the help of a well preconceived plan. Consequently, you too can achieve whatever you desire.
The best way to plan and project is when one has clear precise objectives, concrete concepts and exact dates. Therefore, go ahead and do it, right now write down specific and concrete goals, and under the right circumstances you will live to see your plans and goals come true.
DEVELOP IDEAS AND STRATEGIES
Man sets his own limitations. Consequently, the bigger the objectives and goals the bigger the success of the individual. It is the intention and goals that brings success not the individual. Right now, while you read this book admit that you are able and capable to achieve great things.
You will ask yourself, just as I asked myself: How can I achieve great things? I have answered this question for my own satisfaction, and the answer is: "Complete and total concentration in a great and irresistible thought."
When you find yourself in your private meditations, plot in your dreams a successful future and write down the concrete results that you arrived to. Project and plan over that rich foreseen future and right after that make your castles in the sand come true, by becoming active and building them brick by brick.
If you don't build your castles in your thoughts and ideas you will never build them anywhere.
GIVE TO RECEIVE
For many people, the hardest thing to comprehend and accept is the fact that you need to give in order to receive. I have known many who believe "that serving your fellow human beings" is a good rule for others to obey, but not for them. There is a well defined group of business people who disdain the idea that "the customer is always right," and who make fun of the principle that "in order to receive we must give." In our daily lives, we encounter people who face life by always trying to give less or almost nothing and instead concentrate their efforts in obtaining or gaining as much as they can.They always have a handy excuse: "I can't pay for this." "All people are tricky," "I never had the opportunity," "I am a fool because I have done so much for others." This is how these profit seekers sing their sad song of lamentation, while those who render services silently and quickly pass in this race of life. So many are kept down because they abandon a good deed. Those who render services keep their interest in their work and duties and they like to be useful without thinking of the rewards. This is the way we all should be, and the way we should try to be.
When we serve others it pays, granted, not immediately, but in the long run it always pays to serve others. Try it and find out for yourself.
TAKE RISKSThe individual who wants to be successful in this tumultuous world takes enormous and liberal risks. Life is a constant risk and those who practice the game of safety and security, paradoxically, are the ones who fall victims to antagonistic evils. I have observed that those who seek a security blanket from thieves are the ones who fall victims to these thieves. We should take risks, we should put aside the losses and with a smile in our faces, we should start all over. Can it be done? Of course it can be done. The fear to lose is always greater than what really is. When we enter the vast field of searching for great things, we risk losing or winning or winning or losing.I don't know of a secure way of obtaining these great things, but it is by taking risks, and the bigger the better. I quote the famous words by Julius Caesar in Shakespeare's play: "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings."
SAVE AND STORESave, gather and store, even in case that you own only small quantities, work and save in small amounts.It is okay to experience hunger and cold, but what's important is that you begin to save and gather. What does security usually mean for most people? For most people the feeling of security means that they have "something: that they can fall back on. For some people, this security is represented by owning a house, and for others, it could be an insurance policy, and even for others, it could be capital or savings, it does not matter how small it is, because it represents a golden fortune.
Allow me to profoundly look in somebody's eyes and I could wisely tell if the individual holds a serene and calm soul, or in the other case, I could see the anxious and preoccupied soul of a debtor. I know a man who struggled in debt for two years, then finally, he could breathe a glorious sigh of relief, only to fall back in debt for several years, all this when he could have accumulated substantial savings.
I believe in the spirit of adventure into the vast sea of life toward far away shores, embarking in a raft, a boat, a steamer, but I know this journey ca not be accomplished in a solitary swim. When I have observed brave men, I have noticed that they always have some sort of hope or help which keeps them afloat.
ASK AND YOU WILL RECEIVE
This is the 6th and last suggestion. It seems something incredible, but the truth is that when we ask, we honestly do not expect to receive. Ask frankly and wishfully. He who expects or wishes will eventually obtain what they wished or asked for.
Let's see, what do you expect from life? What have you asked for today? What would you ask and expect of tomorrow? You have the right to expect a lot, because as a reader of this book I don't think you are a suspicious person, I certainly hope not. Anyway, I am willing to think that you are getting ready to draft a great plan with the following goals and objectives: that you will give to receive, that you will gather and save, that you will constantly take and face great risks, that you will try daring things and you will expect to come out triumphant in a confident manner.
Naturally, you will do it this way, You are expected to do it this way.
Go ahead, march towards your right destination.
En el fondo, muy pocos esperan fallar; creo que usted no lo espera así ¿verdad?
La mayoría de las personas que fallan no saben el porqué sucedió, pero los pocos que triunfan, sí conocen el porqué Aquel verdaderamente triunfante es quien se estima así. ¿Se considera usted una persona con éxito, próspera, triunfante? Y sí qu lo será, si procura objetivos legitimos y posibles. Ahí yace el secreto del triunfo. Recuerde, existe un dorado futuro si intenta el logro de metas prácticas y accesibles; existen también métodos sencillos como los que més delante expongo, que han servido para la obtención de dichos objetivos.
Si se me permitiera considerar como a una vasta familia a los muchos lectores de este mi libro -- poniéndo a mis hijos como miembros de esta familia, así como todo lo referente al triunfo que he extraído a manera de hechos, de la vida de los grandes que he conocido o leído acerca de ellos -- cristalizaría tales métodos bajo seis encabezados y lo mejor que pudiera hacerlo sería así:
PROYECTAR
La primera sugerencia que ofreciera, como lección cuerdamente aprendida, sería la prudencia en el planear.Toda persona de éxito tiene un nervio central en cada célula, punzando por procurar un fin. Si cada átomo de su cuerpo poseyera voz, todos cantarían al unísono la misma canción. Los verdaderamente grandes nos han enseñado ésto -- que lo que han querido lo han obtenido a través de un plan preconcebido; por lo tanto, usted puede tambien obtener lo anhelado.
La mejor manera de proyectar es haciéndolo sobre objetivos precisos, términos concretos y fechas exactas. Así que, proyecte; pero hágalo; anote ahora mismo ese fin concreto, en condiciones justas y vivirá para ver logrado su plan.
IDEAR
Es el hombre quien provée sus propias limitaciones. Es así que entre más grande sea el objetivo, más grande vendrá a ser el hombre. Es la intención y no el individuo quien establece el triunfo.Ahorita mismo, mientras lee este libro confiesese que se sabe capáz de hacer más grandes cosas.
Se preguntará, como yo me he preguntado: ¿Cómo puedo hacer cosas más grandes? Bien, esta pregunta la he respondido, para mi propia satisfacción y la respuesta es: completa concentración en un grande e irresistible pensamiento.
Cuando se encuentre solo, con su propio meditabundo YO, conjeture en el ensueño de un enriquecido futuro y anote el resultado concreto a que llegó. Proyecte sobre ese rico futuro vislumbrado y enseguida haga que sus castillos en el aire vengan a ser realidad, edificándolos ladrillo sobre ladrillo, por medio de la acción.
Si no construye primero sus castillos en el pensamiento, jamás los edificará en parte alguna.
DAR PARA RECIBIR
La acción más difícil de aceptar, para muchos, es el saber que se tiene que "dar para recibir." He conocido varios quienes piensan que "el servir al prójimo primero" es un buen precepto para los demàs, no para ellos. Existe una clase definida de personas de negocios que desprecian la idea de que "el cliente siempre tiene la razón"; quienes desdeñan, mofan y escaramuzan la sugestión de que se tiene que "dar para recibir." A diario podemos encontrar personas, quienes al enfrentar a la vida, buscan cómo poder dar lo menos, lo mínimo, concentrándose siempre en la obtención de lo máximo. Siempre tienen una excusa a la mano: "Ese no es mi trabajo," "No puedo pagar porque se me haga ésto," "Toda la gente es trampista," "No se me ha dado la oportunidad," "Soy un tonto por haber hecho tanto." Y así van entonando su triste canción de lamentos esos buscadores de ganancia, mientras que los donantes de servicios pasan silenciosos y rápidos en la carrera. ¡El abandono de la obra mantiene abajo a tantos! Los serviciales tienen interes en sus trabajos y les gusta rendir utilidad sin pensar en la recompensa; cual deberíamos ser -- cual debemos procurar ser.El servir a los demás, paga. Concedo que no inmediatamente, pero a la larga, siempre paga. Ensaye y compruébelo.
ARRIESGUE
El individuo que busca el triunfo en este tumultuoso mundo, arriesga tremenda y liberalmente. La vida es riesgo constante y es paradógico que quien practica el generalizado juego de "la seguridad primero," es víctima de los antagónicos males. He observado que quienes procuran una bolsa especial para resguardarse de los ladrones, seguido vienen a ser víctimas de ellos. Debemos arriesgar; debemos arrojar hacia un lado las pérdidas y con una sonrisa comenzar de nuevo. ¿Que si puede? claro que puede. Siempre es más grande el temor a la pérdida que lo que ésta es en sí realmente. Al aventurarse en vasto campo a la persecución de grandes cosas, estará confinado a perder y ganar, a ganar y perder. No conozco nada para conducirnos a la obtención de esas grandes cosas, como el correr el riesgo; y entre más grande sea éste, mucho mejor. Cito las palabras contenidas en la obra teatral de Shakespeare "Julio César" -- "La culpa, mi querido Bruto, no yace en las estrellas, sino en nosotros que somos mequetrefes."
RESERVE
Acumule, reúna una reserva. Aún en el caso de disponer sólo de una pequeña cantidad, constrúyala; pase algo de hambre y frío, pero mantenga una reserva. ¿Que es lo que presta seguridad a las más de las personas? La conciencia de que detrás de ellos está un firme respaldo. Para algunos ésto puede que signifique la posesión de una casa; para otros una Póliza de Seguros y para algunos más, un capital; una reserva, no importa cuán pequeña sea, es un caudal dorado.Permítaseme ver profundamente a los ojos de alguien y diré si juiciosamente posee alguna reserva, porque habré de ver la calma reposada de una alma controlada o la preocupación ansiosa y porfiada de un deudor. Conozco a un hombre quien luchó con la deuda a lo largo de dos años, hasta que por fín pudo lanzar un glorioso suspiro de alivio para a la semana siguiente endeudarse de nuevo por algunos años más, cuando muy bien pudo haber guardado una reserva substancial.
Creo en el aventurarse en el vasto mar de la vida hacia las lejanas costas, ya sea en balsa, bote o vapor, pero sé que en solitario nado no podría hacerse la travesía. Al observar a los hombres osados, descubro que tienen siempre alguna ayuda que los mantiene a flote. Así que, comienze hoy mismo a reunir su reserva -- le aseguro que no se arrepentirá nunca y me dará las gracias por el consejo.
PIDA Y RECIBIRA
Esta es la sexta y última sugestión. Parece algo increíble pero la verdad es que cuando pedimos, sinceramente no esperamos recibir. Pida con franca esperanza. El hombre grande espera que se haga como él desea que suceda.Veámos, ¿qué espera de la vida? ¿que ha pedido para hoy? ¿qué pedirá para mañana y qué espera para mañana? Tiene derecho a esperar mucho -- porque como lector de este libro creo no es receloso -- y espero que así sea. De cualquier manera, estoy dispuesto a pensar que está disponiéndose para la preparación del señalamiento de una gran meta; elaborar un gran plan; que dará para recibir; que reunirá una reserva y que con constancia encarará los grandes riesgos; que intentará las cosas intrépidas y esperará el triunfo con sincera confianza.
Naturalmente que así lo hará. Está obligado a hacerlo.
Marche pues, hacia su destino correcto.
