Places in the Sun

Welcome to this digital version of James F. Cooper's 1989 book, Places in the Sun.

Places in the Sun is an excellent addition to Through Our Parents’ Eyes architecture resources.

Our thanks go to Joe Cooper, James F. Cooper’s son, for granting us permission to create a digital version of his father’s book. Joe has a business in Tucson, Pueblo Home Inspection, and has been performing at The Gaslight Theater since 1983.

From About the Author in The Bar Is Open, Jim Cooper's 1995 book about the Tucson Press Club:

'Coop' moved to Tucson in 1951 to become the political reporter for the Tucson Citizen. After 13 years with that newspaper, he became managing editor of the weekly Southwestern Labor Review. He resigned that position when he enrolled at the University of Arizona to pursue a master's degree in English, and then served as assistant director of publications for Tucson Unified School District.

He passed away in 1992 and is especially remembered by friends for his sense of humor.
